Naval Reactors Historical Association was founded in 2023 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Naval Reactors.  We are committed to connecting past and present Naval Reactors professionals, inspiring future generations, and educating the public on Naval Reactors' accomplishments.  Our mission is to ensure that Naval Reactors professionals and their important contributions to our nation's security are never forgotten.

Based on agreement with the Defense Office of Prepublication and Security Review, any defense-related technical information in narratives available from NR-HA is obtained only from unlimited distribution Government sources/sites.  Publishing even unclassified DOD technical information from non-Government sources is prohibited on this site unless it can also be found from a Government source.  This is necessary to avoid the need for prepublication security review of published content and comply with Non-Disclosure Agreements.  The most commonly used sources that meet this criteria:

  • Duncan - Rickover and the Nuclear Navy

  • Hewlett and Duncan - Nuclear Navy 1946 - 1962

  • NR publicly released reports and handbooks

  • Congressional testimony
