This is an outstanding article from the April 2008 edition of The Submarine Review which reprinted an article which 1st appeared in the Spring 2003 issue of the Journal Historical Studies of the Physical and Biological Sciences.


The article describes the efforts of NRL and Ross Gunn to determine the feasibility of naval nuclear propulsion, create initial plans for a nuclear submarine, and start a uranium enrichment facility.
